about gene watson
Gene Watson’s first radio single, “If It’s That Easy,” was released in 1962. In the 50-plus years since, he’s charted 23 top ten hits and 10 number ones, and he still sings in the same key as he always has. He remains defiantly country in the face of today’s more pop-oriented offerings, delighting his legions of fans who rely on him to keep traditional country music alive and well.
On his most recent album, “Real.Country.Music.”, he once again proves he’s the master of classic country, pulling out overlooked gems in other artists’ catalogs as well as a few of his own songs that are fan favorites. “Every time I step out on that stage and see that audience, it’s a new beginning,” he says. “Even though I’ve sung these songs millions of times, I look at each one like it’s brand new to me.”
Come out to Margaritaville® Resort Casino Bossier City and enjoy such classics as “Farewell Party,” “Fourteen Carat Mind,” and “Love in the Hot Afternoon.”
